Fort Saskatchewan RCMP tracking armed suspects near Elk Island National Park
Elk Island National Park, Alta. – Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are currently on scene tracking potentially armed suspects who are on foot at the entrance of Elk Island National Park on Range Road 201A and Highway 16. While this is a remote location with no residents, RCMP are asking motorists in the area to refrain from picking up any hitch hikers and report suspicious activity in the area by calling 911.
Additionally, traffic on Highway 16 maybe impacted as this event unfolds.

Elk Island National Park, Alta. – Fort Saskatchewan RCMP report that all suspects have been safely arrested and there is no ongoing risk to the public. Traffic on Highway 16 is now open.
