Strathcona Wins Provincial Crown In Vegreville

The 2025 ATB Financial Hockey Alberta U13A Provincial Championship tournament came to a close in style on Sunday. The Strathcona Warriors completed an undefeated weekend with a 6-4 victory over Medicine Hat to claim the provincial title at the Wally Fedun
Arena. Game MVP Emmett Leibel led the way with a pair of goals for Strathcona. He would lead the tournament in goal scoring with eight goals in five games. The championship is vindication for several returning players who saw last year’s run end in a lop-sided
semi-final loss to the same Medicine Hat squad. Attention now turns to this coming weekend which will see several Vegreville squads battling for provincial glory. The U13 Girls will be in Stettler while the U18 Wranglers make the trip to Drumheller for their
tournament.
