The Town of Vegreville has now released the preliminary results of their Regional Recreation Feasibility Study.
The study was conducted in collaboration with the County of Minburn, Town of Mundare, Village of Holden, County of Two Hills, and Town of Two Hills, and with the support of Orange Crow Leadership.
The survey, which was open from August 29th to October 31st, 2024, received 622 responses from across the region. Of these, 70 percent were Vegreville residents, while 30 percent came from surrounding areas. A strong majority of respondents emphasized the importance of improving existing recreation facilities, and when asked about future needs, they identified the following as top priorities:
- Aquatic Centre (70%)
- Indoor walking track (68%)
- Outdoor trails/playgrounds (62%)
- Indoor courts (56%)
- Fitness facilities (53%)
