National Volunteer Week returns this month

National Volunteer Week is making its return this year from April 27th to May 3rd. The goal of the week is to highlight the powerful impact and essential roles that individuals and collective volunteers play in the community at large.

Community Programmer for the Viking Family and Community Support Services Jo Dunkley says that volunteers continue to be the lifeblood of all communities, and that their role remains vital.

Two celebratory luncheons will be held by the Viking and Beaver FCSS to honour volunteers that week. The Viking Community Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, April 29th from 12pm to 1:30pm at the Viking Seniors’ Centre, and the Holden Community Luncheon will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 12pm to 1:30pm at the Holden Community Hall. These events are free of charge.
