The Lac La Biche Healthcare Centre is one of 20 rural hospitals being considered for upgrades under a new provincial program.
Alberta’s government announced $330 million over three years in Budget 2025 for the Rural Hospital Enhancement Program. The goal is to improve access to essential health care in rural communities. Lac La Biche is part of the first phase of planning, where its needs will be evaluated.
Health Minister Adriana LaGrange says the program will help make sure rural Albertans get the care they need, close to home.
