Measles cases in Canada have now surpassed the previous high set in 2011.
As of Friday, health authorities reported 914 infections—topping the 751 cases from 13 years ago. In Alberta, former chief medical officer Dr. James Talbot is calling out the provincial government for what he calls a “lackadaisical” approach to vaccination.
Talbot warns that about 30% of Albertans aren’t immunized—six times the danger level for outbreaks.
