Alberta has confirmed 16 new cases of measles, bringing the total to 74 since early March.
Most of the cases are in school-aged kids, with 18 involving children under five. The new cases were found in the central and southern parts of the province.
Alberta’s top doctor, Mark Joffe, says measles is more serious than other childhood illnesses and urges everyone to get vaccinated.
So far, at least eight people have been hospitalized.
