The Vegreville 4-H Beef Club held its annual Show and Sale this week.
Club members showcased their projects on Monday, May 27th at the Vegreville Agricultural Society grounds.
Leader Kelly Weleschuk thinks 4-H is just an amazing opportunity for kids to learn so many life lessons. Leading up to Achievement Day, she says these kids would normally have to feed their steers twice a day, tie them up, halter break them, and do all those things to make sure they are ready. She says “Lots and lots of work goes into Achievement Day, when it comes out to sending out letters to our sponsors and this year we did a big one for panel sponsors. So our club got a whole bunch of panel sponsors in, which we really appreciate all those businesses and personal farms that sponsored those for us.”
Vegreville 4-H Beef Club member Ayden Homeniuk’s steer was first in the Light Class. He explains what he likes about being in 4-H.
Ally Pocock had the Grand Champion Steer at the Vegreville 4-H Beef Club’s Show and Sale, Cooper Axten had the Reserve Champion, and Paiten Axten had the Homegrown Champion.
