The Vegreville Blue Jays got back in the win column in a big way as part of Tuesday’s Powerline Baseball League action. The Jays thumped the visiting Armena Royals 11-1 to improve to 2-1 on the young season. Tag Weder had a big day offensively, going 2 for 3 with three stolen bases and two runs in the victory. The centrefielder says it was a complete effort and a big confidence builder.
Grayson Soprovich chipped in with a 2 for 4 performance, driving in two runs in the process. With the team back in action tomorrow night in Rosalind, he says the plan will be the same.
Kyle Muzechka was his usual solid self on the hill for Vegreville. The veteran southpaw pitched all five innings, giving up just one run while striking out eight. The Jays are in Rosalind tomorrow night to face the Athletics. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm at the Rosalind Recreation Grounds.
