Edmonton’s 27 year old Captain Connor McDavid from Richmond Hill, Ontario picked up an assist on Ekholm’s goal to notch his first ever point in a Stanley Cup Final.
Florida would tie the game up about mid-way through the second period, and then in the third it was Panthers 30 year old forward Evan Rodrigues from Toronto, Ontario who would break the game open by scoring his second and third goals of the SCF. He lit the lamp with even strength tally at 3:11 and a power play goal at 12:26.
The Panthers out shot the Oilers 29-19. Edmonton was 0-4 on the power play, while Florida went 1-6.
