The Viking Historical Society along with ATCO will be hosting a complementary lunch on Saturday, July 6th to give the public a sneak peek of the new Viking Gas Field Interpretive Centre. The Society has been hard at work collecting donations and memorabilia relating to the Gas Camp that once stood in the Viking region, and creating a historical display to commemorate the significance of the Camp. The display will include photos, signs, clothing, magazine clippings, and news articles. Members of the community are invited to come out and see a little bit of the display and enjoy a free BBQ with complementary burgers, chips, and pop from 12pm to 2pm at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.
