The Viking and District Agricultural Society is pleased to host their annual Chariot and Chuckwagon Races event this weekend. The three day affair is a celebration of chuckwagon racing, agriculture, and community spirit. Vice President for the Society Kerri Davis says that she is very excited for this year’s event, which could not be possible without the tireless efforts of dedicated volunteers.
Davis adds that she looks forward to seeing the community of Viking come together for this annual summer celebration, and hopes that everyone who attends can take the good memories made this weekend home with them.
She also hopes to see the horse and wagon drivers participate in the event safely.
The Viking Chariot and Chuckwagon Races kick off Friday July 5th with beer gardens opening at 5pm at the Viking Multiplex, with the races beginning at 6pm. Other activities set for the weekend are a pork rib cook-off on Saturday, raffle prizes, and a race from the East/West Chapter of Alberta Carriage Driving Association on Sunday.
All races will take place at the Cloverlodge Stampede Grounds.

For those who cannot attend the races in person, be sure to tune in to Country 106.5 for live action from the races all weekend!
