The Town of Smoky Lake is excited for another year of the Smoky Lake Stampede and Heritage Days Event next month. Mayor of the Town Amy Cherniwchan says that this year’s theme for the event will be Train Tracks of Tradition, with a focus on the 105th anniversary of the historical CN Train Station located in Smoky Lake. Cheriwchan also says that this annual
celebration is a well loved affair for the Town, with many visitors heading their way to attend the festivities.
She also mentions that this yearly tradition could not be possible without the help of the dedicated volunteers who bring an event like this to life.
The Smoky Lake Stampede and Heritage Days Event will take place Saturday, August 3rd, and Sunday, August 4th. Activities slated for the weekend include a farmer’s market at 9am on Saturday, a parade at 11am in the downtown area on Saturday, and the Stampede beginning at 1pm both days at the Smoky Lake Rodeo Grounds. For more information, please visit the Town of Smoky Lake website at www.smokylake.ca. To register for the parade, please visit the Smoky Lake Town Office, or call 780-656-3674.
