CAJHL Hits Pause On 2024-2025 Season

It will be a different looking winter this year as the Canadian American Junior Hockey League announced plans to go dormant for the 2024/2025 season. League President and Vegreville Vipers General Manager Bryan Brown says there were talks to expand to three more
communities but trouble finding reliable ice time with time ticking away led to a difficult decision for the league.

The league was founded in January of 2022 when six teams broke away from the Western States Hockey League to form their own league. Brown says the league is hopeful that over the next year, they’ll be able to lock down some new expansion franchises and get things
in order in time to start in the fall of 2025.

The Vegreville Vipers are the league’s defending champions, having swept the Hinton Timberwolves back in March.
