The Vegreville Fire Services have sent two members of their team to Jasper National Park to help fight the wildfire currently ongoing in the region. Vegreville Fire Services Fire Chief Gary Faas says they were glad to be able to send people to help out.
Faas extends his sympathy to the community of Jasper, and hopes that a change in the weather will aid in turning things around.
He also adds that he is always encouraged to see members of the community band together to help one another in a time of crisis.
The fight to save Jasper National Park and the Jasper townsite remains ongoing.
