Pilots at Air Canada will wrap up voting Thursday on whether to authorize a strike against the airline….one that could begin by mid-September.
The Air Line Pilots Association says the main issues include retirement and scheduling concerns, as well as compensation.
The union notes that, in some cases, pilots in the US are earning twice as much as their Canadian counterparts.
The two sides are now in the final stages of conciliation talks.
A strike could be launched if a deal isn’t reached by the end of a 21-day cooling off period.
That period expires in the middle of next month.
