Pilots at Air Canada have overwhelmingly voted to a approve a strike mandate on Thursday, putting them in a position to walk off the job as early as September 17th. The employees have been negotiating with Air Canada since June of 2023, and the process is slated to wrap up on Monday. A 21 day cooling off period will follow negotiations, leaving September 17th as the earliest possible strike date. The Air Line Pilots Association, which represents more than 5 thousand aviators at Air Canada, said the vote passed with 98 percent support, and that main issues being negotiated include retirement, scheduling concerns, and compensation.
