The province will look into the feasibility of a new reservoir on the Red Deer River to help boost water storage in Alberta. The $4.5 million report will look into the potential new reservoir on the Red Deer River near Ardley. It will also determine how much value a reservoir near the Ardley site could have to communities and farmers downstream. Environment Minister Rebecca Schulz says Central Alberta is a thriving region and the province is determined to make sure that water is available to meet growing needs. The study is expected to be finished no later than March 2026.
