Efforts To Find Temporary Housing For Those Who Lost Homes In Jasper Wildfire Continue

Jasper Town Council heard that finding temporary housing for everyone who lost their homes in the July wildfire won’t be possible soon. Around 2,000 residents are without homes after 800 units were destroyed. Efforts are focused on securing housing for essential workers, like hospital staff and teachers, while options for others are still being explored. These include prefab homes and nearby housing. A proposal for funding is being prepared, but there’s no secured money yet. Some displaced residents are staying in shelters, and the town is working to provide more housing support.
