Banff RCMP Member Faces Break And Enter Charges

A Banff RCMP member is facing break-and-enter charges after the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team forwarded the findings of their investigation to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service.  ASIRT officials say they were directed to investigate after accusations that an officer from the Banff detachment was involved in an incident at a hotel room occupied by two women with whom the officer had socialized with earlier in the evening of October 23, 2022. Earlier this month, Constable Garret Claxton was charged with break and enter and released on an appearance notice. He is scheduled for his first appearance in the Alberta Court of Justice in Canmore on Sept. 25.
