The City of Cold Lake is reviewing plans to expand the Cold Lake Medical Clinic, which has grown significantly since becoming a Municipal Controlled Corporation in April 2023. Initially operating with just one or two physicians, the clinic now houses five doctors, with another expected soon, prompting the need for more space.Â
Council discussed expansion options, including a two-story design with future-ready space for specialists. Renovations to the old clinic will follow after the new section is built. The project is estimated to cost $4 million, with funding coming from the MCC, grants, and possibly council. The expansion aims to accommodate up to 15 doctors, improving healthcare access in the region.Â
