A new economic development alliance has launched in the region.
Jamieson Brown, the Town of Vegreville’s Manager of Community Engagement and Economic Development, says the Crossroads Economic Development Alliance is an alliance that involves the Village of Innisfree, the Village of Mannville, as well as the County of Minburn, and the Town of Vegreville. He notes the Town of Vegreville is extremely excited about this opportunity to work collaboratively as a region.
According to Brown, what they have learned in the economic development sphere over the last several years is that you have to be able to work together in order to be able to attract industry.
Kathy Dmytriw, Economic Development Consultant, says the Crossroads Economic Development Alliance is engaging in a Business Retention Expantion (BRE) project in the first half of this year and they need businesses and organizations to fill in a B-R-E survey. She says they have an incentive program for you to fill out the survey thanks to the support of some local businesses. All business owners/representatives who take the survey will be entered into the draw for the Business Promotion Package.
Dmytriw says the purpose for their survey is to gain an understanding from the businesses as to what their needs are. She adds, there is a direct link to the survey under the news section of their website – crossroadsdevelopment.ca and they will be doing the prize draw at the end of the survey.
Dmytriw points out that information through the survey will help the Alliance develop a workforce development opportunity in the region.
