Alberta’s 2025 budget boosts the Grants in Place of Taxes program by $17.2 million, increasing municipal revenue from provincially owned buildings.
The province will now cover 75 per cent of owed taxes, rising to 100 per cent in 2026. The budget also includes $820.4 million for the Local Government Fiscal Framework, with funding tied to the province’s past revenue performance.
