The RCMP Road Race is taking place on Tuesday, May 7th.
The 42nd annual RCMP Challenge Cup Relay Race is organized by the St. Paul Royal Canadian Mounted Police and is hosted in partnership with St. Paul and Area Victim Services.
Wide-spread participation from numerous schools in the Lakeland including junior and senior high schools is expected.
The race begins west of St. Brides and continues east along Highway 29 and into St. Paul. It begins just after 10am on May 7th and it is anticipated it will be completed by by 12:30pm. The finish line will be at the St. Paul Recreation Centre on 53rd Street in St. Paul.
St. Paul RCMP ask that motorists remain extra vigilant and exercise caution with runners being present during those hours alongside the south shoulder heading into St. Paul.
According to a press release, “the RCMP Road Race is an opportunity for youth to interact with members of the RCMP in a positive environment, working towards stronger relationships within the community.”
