Blue Jays Back At Home

With some dryer weather in the forecast this week, it looks like the Vegreville Blue Jays will finally make their long-awaited return to Riverview Ball Diamond. The Birds play host to the defending champion Rosalind Athletics tonight, marking their first home game since May 28th. The Jays are coming off a pair of road wins, knocking off Camrose and Tofield. Centrefielder Tag Weder says they’ve just got to stay consistent to earn another victory.

The Blue Jays enter tonight’s game in second place in the Powerline Baseball League standings with a 4-2 record. A big part of their success continues to be veteran pitcher Kyle Muzechka. The southpaw has provided steady innings for years and once again, is the ace of the Vegreville staff. Teammate Grayson Soprovich says they know when he’s on the hill, they have a chance to win.

The Blue Jays and Athletics get underway at 7:00 pm tonight. The A’s took the one previous encounter this season by a score of 10-4.
