Residents from Jasper Could Return Home On Friday

Residents from the Town of Jasper could be returning to the community as soon as Friday. Parks Canada announced the  Incident Management Team is expecting to have all the Re-entry Criteria met by the end of the week and the townsite will have minimum services to make it “safe for residents to return.” However if there there is an increase in fire activity or unplanned changes to critical services this could change. Following the announcement Jasper Mayor Richard Ireland released a statement saying he understands while all have lost something due to the wildfire, for some the loss is greater than others.
