Jasper Residents Return To Town After Three Week Evacuation Due To Wildfires

Jasper residents may now return to Town after a three week evacuation due to wildfires. Parks Canada has stated that while residents may make their way back to Town, visitors are not allowed re-entry at this time. According to a post made to the Parks Canada website on Wednesday, the organization is prioritizing the security concerns of Jasper residents, and doing their best to ensure a safe re-entry process. The east entrance will be the only way to enter the Town at this time. RCMP officers will be stationed there to ensure that everyone entering Jasper has a re-entry guide. Residents will be required to show their Parks Canada issued resident parking pass or self declare before entering the Town. Residents who live in Jasper but outside of the main townsite will receive instructions about when they can return at a later date.
