Stats Canada Determines That Nearly Half Of Canadians Greatly Affected By Rising Prices

Stats Canada reports nearly half of Canadians (45%) say rising prices are greatly affecting their ability to meet day-to-day expenses.  That’s up from a third of Canadians (33 %) two years earlier.  The Canadian Social Survey collected data from mid-April to early June and focused on quality of life and the impact of rising prices.  The agency also says concerns about housing affordability increased over the past two years.  Nearly 4 in 10 Canadians (38%) reported being very concerned with their ability to afford housing or rent this spring. That’s up from 3 in 10 (30%) in spring 2022.
