The Village of Innisfree Library is gearing up for Fall with a Clothing Drive event this month. The Library is looking for clothing donations throughout the month of September in preparation for a Clothing Swap Fundraiser on October 19th. Manager for the Library Marilyn Newton says the idea for the event came about after she had received many questions about whether members of the community could drop off items for those in need at their location.
Folks who donate their gently used clothing will receive a free bag to use for the Clothing Swap Fundraiser. For those who don’t donate but would still like to participate in the event, bags will be available for five dollars. All proceeds from the October Clothing Swap will go toward funding a career fair at the Delnorte School in Innisfree later this Fall.
The Library will also be hosting a Fruit and Vegetable Harvest Share on September 13th and 14th. The event will take place during the Library’s operating hours and is a chance for those who may have extra fruits or vegetables on hand from their garden to drop them off and share them with the community.
