CALS Breakfast Club Program Well Underway For Fall Season

The Community Association for Lasting Success Breakfast Club Program is in full swing with the advent of the new school year. The Program aims to address food insecurity for children in schools, providing them with a mid-morning snack at no charge to families. The Program currently helps over 600 children at three schools in Vegreville, including A.L. Horton Elementary, St. Martin’s School, and the Next Step Outreach Program. Coordinator for the Breakfast Club Heather Giebelhaus says the Program is intended to be universally accessible for all children, including those with allergies or dietary restrictions.

The Program has been run in Vegreville since 1998 and relies on the hard work and dedication of local volunteers. Giebelhaus also says according various teachers surveyed at these schools, the Program is successful and very important.

The CALS Breakfast Club Program runs throughout the school year and is always looking for volunteers or donations. For more information, please visit their website at vcals.org.
