Vegreville’s Sarah Melenka is still reeling after winning a bronze medal in Paris at the Paralympic Games this past month. The athlete was member of Canada’s Sitting Women’s Volleyball Team this summer, and after a well earned fight, the Team made its way to the bronze medal game against Brazil, a long standing rival. Melenka says the entire experience was a bit unreal, but she tried to make every moment count.
Sarah adds that she is incredibly proud of Team Canada’s efforts this year, and that anything is possible with hard work and determination.
Melenka says that she is very excited to see the Paralympic Athlete movement growing, and that she hopes to inspire others, no matter the obstacle, to work toward their goals. She also says this is an experience she will never forget.
